The City Lit Awards 2017 took place on Thursday night, celebrating the outstanding work and achievements of various students and staff from across the college, as well as the transformation adult learning can bring. Winners were selected by our judging panel from a longlist of over 400 nominations from across the City Lit community.
We were delighted to be joined by music icon Lulu, who presented award winners with their certificates and even performed an impromptu rendition of her smash hit ‘Shout’ with one of our award winners.

The awards were compered by City Lit Executive Director of External Engagement, Phil Chamberlain. City Lit Principal Mark Malcomson CBE and Chair of the Board of Governors Dame Moira Gibb also made speeches on the night. Winners were joined by friends and family members in the audience to watch them receive their awards, and the event was followed by a drinks reception where the highlight was a memorable performance from the Percussion Orchestra, the winners of this year’s Project of the Year award.
