We are excited to announce the forthcoming opening of Contested Space, a unique multi-media show from City Lit fine art student Svetlana Atlavina. The show portrays the perils of travelling on foot, by car and in particular cycling the streets of central London. The name, Contested Space, reflects the social situation where every day participants of the city’s traffic compete for their personal track spaces and the shortest journey time.

The exhibition also demonstrates Svetlana’s united printmaking, painting and video talent . Her skills developed whilst studying at City Lit where she attended a two year City Lit fine art course in which students are taught a number of different fine art practises. Svetlana is also currently studying ‘Developing fine art practice' to further develop her portfolio.

Keen to develop your fine art practice? Make sure you see what’s on offer at City Lit this year, where you too could turn a passion into something more. The next City Lit fine art course starts on the 21 September 2017 or take a look a great choice of art and design to hone your skills, running throughout the year for all levels.
