Tim Marshall will be talking about a number of issues from his new book, Worth Dying For, including; what is the origin of the ISIS flag? Why are so many African flags red, yellow and green? As well as revealing the histories, the power and the politics of the symbols that unite us – and divide us: flags.

In 9 chapters (covering the USA, UK, Europe, Middle East, Asia, Africa, Latin America, international flags and flags of terror), Tim Marshall draws on more than 25 years of global reporting experience to reveal the histories, the power and the politics of the symbols that unite us - and divide us.

Tim is a British journalist, writer and broadcaster, known for his analysis of developments in foreign news and international diplomacy, and author of the bestselling Prisoners of Geography.

After the talk, Tim will be signing copies of his new book Worth Dying For.
