Sign Language Week 2018

This year's Sign Language Week takes place between 12-18 March 2018.

Run by the British Deaf Association, this year's theme for Sign Language Week is 'Pride in BSL', and will include a national 'Pride in BSL' march on Parliament as part of the campaign to gain legal status for BSL. More details about the march are available here

City Lit offers the fullest range of courses in BSL, enabling progress from introductory or beginner level to advanced level 6.

Learn BSL with City Lit - beginners courses

Introduction to BSL

Starts Mon 23 Apr (7 sessions), 13:30-14:30  

Learn some basic BSL vocabulary and grammar, and decide if you want to progress to the level 1 course.


BSL level 1

Starts Thu 26 Apr (11 sessions), 10:00-16:00

Starts Fri 11 May (11 sessions), 10:00-16:00

Have you always wanted to learn British Sign Language and communicate with Deaf people? Develop the skills you need to gain the level 1 BSL qualification, accredited by Signature. The fees for BSL level 1 courses include a year's subscription to Signworld.
