Special Event: An Evening With Sir Jonathan Miller

Join us for a special evening with Sir Jonathan Miller in aid of our student bursary which takes place on Tuesday 1 December 2015.

Actor, director, writer, artist, television presenter and patron of the City Lit Drama department, Sir Jonathan will be sharing fascinating stories and insights from his hugely varied and successful career. From comedy in Beyond the Fringe to directing Shakespeare and opera, his career has been marked by extraordinary versatility.

This event is part of City Lit's Fellowship Lecture Series; Sir Jonathan will be in conversation with City Lit Principal Mark Malcomson. Established in summer 2015 by our Board of Governors, the City Lit Fellowship is awarded to individuals who have shown a significant commitment to adult education in the UK and who have provided support and inspiration to City Lit and our students.   

An outstanding advocate is Sir Jonathan who has personally contributed as patron of the City Lit Drama department, as well as his enormous contribution to the arts. His achievements and contribution help inspire many learners setting out on their journey.

This special evening, in aid of the City Lit Student Bursary, begins at 19:00 in our John Lyon Hall. During this event, our Chair of Governors, Dame Moira Gibb, will have the pleasure of presenting Sir Jonathan with his City Lit Fellowship Award in recognition of his support. Book your special events tickets

Tickets are £10.00pp for entry and drinks reception (plus an Eventbrite booking fee). City Lit receives funding from fees, government support and charitable donations. Entry fees for this event will help to raise valuable funds for our Student Bursary to support those from a disadvantaged background assisting with course fees, enabling access to education and skills for lifelong learning.
