Support STAMWALK

We at City Lit Speech Therapy are delighted to support  British Stammering Association’s Tim Fell, in his incredible feat of endurance to raise awareness about stammering. You can read about Tim's challenge on the BSA website

City Lit Speech Therapy and the British Stammering Association (BSA) go back a long way – in fact one of the founder members of the BSA was Peggy Dalton, at the time a therapist at City Lit. Since those early days we have been involved in the BSA in a number of ways, including giving workshops at BSA Open Days and Conferences and taking an active role in some great BSA initiatives such as the exciting Employers Stammering Network.

We fully agree with the BSA that talking openly about stammering is really important – it helps educate the general public about stammering and the impact it can have, and it helps people who stammer to feel understood and less alone.

As a specialist centre in adult stammering therapy, we are here to offer support and help to people who stammer. Did you know that at City Lit Speech Therapy we:

·         Provide a wide range of courses – at different times of the day, of varying lengths and on a choice of topics including stress management, interview skills, public speaking and tackling the telephone (to name a few!).

·         Are a team of experienced speech and language therapists – some of us have experience of stammering ourselves

·         Offer small group sizes: we restrict the number of people on any group to 10 so that you get the support you need.

If you’d like to find out more about what we offer, come along for a free advisory session with one of the speech therapy team, or browse speech therapy courses at City Lit.
