Update on City Lit’s preparation for and response to the current coronavirus status - 28 February

We are continuing to closely monitor Public Health England’s advice regarding the virus which is as follows:

  • There is no need to close public buildings due to coronavirus.  City Lit remains open.
  • Increased levels of hygiene will help to prevent the spread of the virus.  Wash your hands often - with soap and water, or use alcohol sanitiser if handwashing facilities are not available. This is particularly important after taking public transport.  Please make use of the hand washing facilities around the building and the automatic dispensing hand sanitizers.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in a bin.
  • People who feel unwell should stay at home and should not attend work or any education setting.
  • NHS 111 has an online coronavirus service that can tell you if you need medical help and advise you what to do.  Alternately, call 111 for advice
  • Face masks for the general public, pupils or students, or staff are not recommended to protect from infection, as there is no evidence of benefit from their use outside healthcare environments.
