What is the course about?
This workshop is only for students attending the Ceramics Diploma course. The workshop is run by the student group and gives the Ceramics Diploma students the chance to have extra untaught time in the ceramics studio to further develop their work.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
The workshop runs alongside the ceramics diploma course and the level is an HE level.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
This workshop is not taught.
Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?
Most materials are included in the price of the workshop. Some students buy their own specialist materials to use in the workshop.
Jim studied ceramics at Epsom, Goldsmiths and MPhil studies Royal College of Art. He has been working with clay/ceramics since 1974 and have been involved in Ceramics education since 1981 at Goldsmiths, Loughborough University, Camberwell School of Art and City Lit. Jim’s personal work is always about the amazing history and qualities of clay/ceramics - different clays-uses-firing processes-tactile-expressive-emotional nature of the medium.
