Lord David Puttnam CBE — City Lit Fellow

Lord David Puttnam CBE is an award-winning British film producer, educator and environmentalist. He was a member of the House of Lords for 24 years until his retirement in October 2021. He has made an enormous contribution to the world of film and media. His films, including The Mission, The Killing Fields, Midnight Express, Bugsy Malone and Memphis Belle, have won numerous award including 10 Oscars, 31 BAFTAs, 13 Golden Globes and the Palme D'Or at Cannes. As an educator, David has played a pivotal role in ensuring education is accessible, delivering online seminars to engage and inspire students all over the world. On a number of occasions, he has supported the work of City Lit and our students. His achievements and contribution help inspire many learners setting out on their journey in film and media.
