The Rt Hon Sir Vince Cable
The Rt Hon Sir Vince Cable was Leader of the Liberal Democrats and MP for Twickenham until July 2019. He has been an outstanding advocate for adult education, when he was Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills he was steadfast in his personal commitment in protecting funding for adult skills. As well as his political career he has authored several books and reports on international economics, trade and environmental issues. Vince read Natural Science and Economics at the University of Cambridge, where he was President of the Union, followed by a PhD at Glasgow University.

City Lit Awards 2022
City Lit held a special awards ceremony on Wednesday 30 March, with Guest of Honour City Lit Fellow Sir Vince Cable. The City Lit Awards took place on Wednesday 30 March 2022, celebrating the outstanding work and achievements of students, tutors and staff from across the college, as well as the transformation adult learning can bring. Winners were selected by our judging panel from a longlist of nominations from across the City Lit community.
