What is the course about?
This is a self-directed study workshop running alongside VV414 Fine jewellery year long course. It is an
opportunity for competent jewellers to work independently, in a well equipped jewellery studio. Available to intermediate and advanced jewellers who are familiar with the City Lit workshop, tools, equipment and health and safety procedures. Perfect for those looking to supplement or follow on their recent courses with additional workshop time to practise, perfect and progress their jewellery making.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
You must have an excellent working knowledge of techniques and processes in jewellery, to enable to you work
independently in the studio. You must be familiar with the City Lit workshop and able to demonstrate health and safety best practice in the studio.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
This is a self-directed workshop, and is not tutored. The tutor will be able to assist with accessing tools and equipment but you are expected to work independently.
Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?
City Lit provides almost all the basic tools and equipment you will need for jewellery making. You are expected to provide the materials for you self-directed projects.
You are advised that sensible footwear must be worn in studio 308. For heath and safety reasons, no sandals,
open shoes & small pumps can be worn – even in hot weather.
