City Lit presents: Late Lines

An evening of prose and poetry with City Lit writers

Wednesday 27 March 2019

Join us at the Star of Kings Pub, 7pm-9pm, for Late Lines, our regular night of spoken word featuring City Lit writers and special guests performing a mix of poetry and prose.

This term we’re excited to welcome readings from students on our poetry masterclass with tutor Ella Frears, and a reading from special guest, author and City Lit alumna, Victoria Selman.

Victoria’s first novel Blood for Blood was shortlisted for the 2017 Debut Dagger Award and is a Kindle #1 bestseller. She has also written for The Daily Express and Independent newspapers and in 2013 she won the Full Stop Short Story Prize. Victoria co-hosts the podcast Crime Girl Gang in which three crime writers examine real life cold cases then solve them from a fictional perspective.

For more information visit: or follow her on Twitter @VictoriaSelman.

Tickets are £3. Book via Eventbrite >

If you're a City Lit student, we'd love for you to share your work at our next event. If you're interested, please email to apply. All genres, styles and levels of experience are very welcome.

Please make sure to apply in advance of the event so we can organise the programme in advance. When you apply, we may ask for a sample of the work you'd like to read, to ensure a variety of voices, perspectives and genres are covered throughout the evening.
