What is the course about?

Explore Colour Therapy and its uses in holistic therapeutic practice. Investigate a basic history of colour therapy and Explore colour as living phenomenon and its relation to health, balance and wellbeing. Begin to learn and apply various healing techniques to utilise colour to harmonise the subtle and physical bodies in your self, friends and family. Explore introductory techniques to develop your sensitivity and awareness in reading auras, chakras . Practice a basic and receive a colour therapy treatment with fellow students in class setting with tutor and student feedback with possible suggestions for further practice.

What will we cover?

1. Explore uses and definitions of Colour Therapy Healing including a brief history
2. Identify some of the uses and benefits of Colour Therapy
3. List the benefits of a holistic approach in relation to Colour Therapy
4. Expand awareness of the Subtle, Auric, Chakra and Physical Anatomies and their relation to Colour Therapy, wellbeing and homeostasis thru practical exercises
5. Explain the difference between pigment and living colour
6. Explore the steps to practice mental colour projection and Practice a basic Colour Therapy treatment on fellow students, friends and family
7. Practice Client care and professionalism, including self care e.g. intention and grounding, and clearing.

2. Identify some of the uses and benefits of Colour Therapy
3. Describe the benefits of a holistic approach in relation to Colour Therapy

5. Be familiar with various terms and practices of Colour Therapy
6. Explain the difference between pigment and living colour
7. Practice a basic Colour Therapy treatment on fellow students, friends and family.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

This course is suitable for all; no prior experience is necessary.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

You will be taught via presentation and demonstrations from the tutor, question and answer, pair work, group discussion and practical tasks, meditations and exercises. Homework and options for further study and materials will be suggested in class.

Janet Whitehead

Jan has been a practising therapist for over fifteen years, and a tutor for ten years. She practises nutrition, holistic massage, aromatherapy, reflexology, Indian head massage, Thai yoga massage, Japanese facial rejuvenation and pregnancy massage. She currently teaches massage, reflexology, manual lymphatic drainage, facials, stone therapy, nutrition, and anatomy and physiology courses at City Lit and other London colleges. Jan is passionate about health and wellbeing. In her spare time, she enjoys increasing her holistic knowledge, cooking, playing tennis, travelling and theatre.
