Seeking work in Radio Drama? Explore microphone techniques and acting skills for radio at a higher level. For those who have completed Acting for Radio Beginners and/or Improvers courses or have previous relevant industry experience. This course will be online.

Description

What is the course about?

Explore microphone techniques and acting for radio at a higher level. For those who have completed Acting for Radio Beginners and/or Improvers courses or have previous relevant industry experience. You will further develop your skills and experience and knowledge of the sector by performing on mic in various and more challenging radio drama settings. This course will be online.

This is a live online course. You will need:
- Internet connection. The classes work best with Chrome.
- A computer with microphone and camera is best (e.g. a PC/laptop/iMac/MacBook), or a tablet/iPad/smart phone/iPhone if you don't have a computer.
- Earphones/headphones/speakers.
We will contact you with joining instructions before your course starts.

What will we cover?

Monologues
Duologues
Taking part in a group recording of a classic radio drama.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

Create a character convincingly in a radio drama
Show versatility by playing another character in the same drama.
Have an appreciation of what to include on a voice reel and how to seek work in radio drama.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

You must have completed Acting for Radio: Beginners and /or Improvers or have comparative previous experience.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Practical experience. You will be directed, recorded, and the work played back. Your work will be analysed by you, your fellow students and tutor. Recordings will require preparation prior to class.
