What is the course about?
Enjoy stretching your acting muscles, working with an experienced theatre director on reading and rehearsing a series of dramatic scenes! We will look at extracts from several different playwrights and examine their contrasting approaches to key contemporary issues, including naturalistic political dramas (e.g. Resilience by Steve Waters), abstract interpretations (e.g. Human Animals by Stef Smith) and those combining the two (e.g. Earthquakes in London by Mike Bartlett).
What will we cover?
• Reading and rehearsing several scenes
• Analysing different playwright’s stylistic choices
• Exploring significant contemporary themes.
Please note that acting classes by their very nature can involve exercises and the exploration of material that some students may find challenging.

• Give rehearsed readings of scenes with confidence
