This will enable participants who have completed Character Voice for Animation to become practised and experienced in creating character voices from scratch for live and recorded performance. It will enable the skills to be honed and embedded and for the individual to go onto make a character voice reel should they so choose in the future. Open to those who have completed a beginners' course or have previous industry experience. This course will be online.

Description

What is the course about?

Become practised and experienced in creating character voices from scratch for live and recorded performance. It will enable the skills to be honed and embedded and for the individual to go onto make a character voice reel should they so choose in the future.

This is a live online course. You will need:
- Internet connection. The classes work best with Chrome.
- A computer with microphone and camera is best (e.g. a PC/laptop/iMac/MacBook), or a tablet/iPad/smart phone/iPhone if you don't have a computer.
- Earphones/headphones/speakers.
We will contact you with joining instructions before your course starts.

What will we cover?

How to analyse and build character voices to an advanced level
How to heighten awareness and accuracy in reproducing pre-existing voices
How to heighten awareness and accuracy in reproducing any accent
How to apply the work to a range of scripts for live and recorded media
How to adapt between stage, screen and studio work
Impressions: historical drama and modern stand-up
Characters for stage, screen and radio/ voice-over
Voice-over for animation characters.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

• Produce a minimum of 12 different character voices safely and reliably,
• Extend vocal range, tone of voice and articulation to new levels of creativity,
• Be self-sufficient in analysing a range of scripts
• Be able to apply imaginative choices resourcefully
• Accurately notate and then recall the work for continuity.
• Accurately reproduce any accent.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

This is an advanced class. You should have completed Character voice for animation, stage and screen: level 1, or have relevant industry experience in voiceover.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Experiential learning on a practical course. Lecture-Style as well as interactive exercises as a group and also in smaller breakout spaces. Practical work undertaken between sessions. Use of Google classroom to access learning resources, engage in interactive discussion with tutor and other participants, see and hear recordings of class work.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

No. Recorded material MAY be made available via Google Classroom at the end of the course in accordance with our privacy policies and data protection regulations.
