    In an area branded 'the hell of poverty', libraries, theatres, art galleries and social housing were established. Workers went on strike and activists campaigned for better lives. Discover this history by taking actual, guided walks through six tumultuous decades of change. The first session is in the classroom at Keeley Street but all other sessions are guided walks. Do you want to work on how you form sentences, understand grammar and use punctuation so your writing is more creative? Do you want to learn how to create meaning in your writing?. This course will help you be more secure in your professional, academic or creative writing skills and help you improve some of your weak areas around forming and punctuating sentences with appropriate grammatical form. You will develop your confidence in the most essential areas of writing including different sentence structures, writing paragraphs, using punctuation effectively, using active and passive voices and proofreading.

    From Victorian ‘Penny Dreadfuls’ to the pages of mid-twentieth-century American Pulp Magazines, the history and evolution of the Crime genre has always been bound up with that of the short story. This course explores how this short-form legacy has been celebrated and sustained by Crime Writers from the latter half of the twentieth century to the present day. Short form narrative has proved an apt vehicle for emerging and established Crime Writers to experiment with the form—crafting suspenseful, mysterious and beguiling tales of the unexpected.
