Printmaking Courses in London

City Lit offers a wide range of creative printmaking courses and workshops that will introduce students to varied specialist techniques including etching, lithography, relief and screen printing. Our courses are delivered at various levels from absolute beginners to more advanced courses for those students who wish to develop projects and work for both personal and commercial purposes.

Taught by professional printmakers and educators, students will receive expert individual guidance on both technical details of plate/screen making and printing alongside creative input and direction about the work being made.

Create unique, beautiful designs and images and build confidence in new areas of printmaking. If this is an area brand new to you, we also offer a series of small, quick try it out sessions to introduce students to new skills and techniques.

    Create a digital file which is used to laser-cut /engrave intricate hand drawn designs, photographic imagery or text into plywood blocks. On Day 2 You will print these using traditional and experimental methods by hand and using a press, to create a small edition of prints. This course combines digital and traditional processes to offer a new take on a woodcut technique much favoured by Edvard Munch, in which an image on a woodblock is jig- sawed into separate pieces that are inked separately using different colours.
