Printmaking Courses in London

City Lit offers students a comprehensive overview of printmaking in all its forms, including relief printing, Intaglio, Lithography, screenprinting and digital technologies. Delivered through a range of creative printmaking courses and workshops, students can choose from general introductions to more specialist printmaking techniques or work on a series of printmaking projects in our contemporary print studio courses.

We offer various levels of printmaking classes from absolute beginners to those with more experience that wish to develop personal projects and commercial work.

We are proud to have a team of professional and internationally recognised printmakers and educators, who offer their expert guidance and experience on technical processes that can support students in realising their ideas and work through the medium of printmaking.

Our professional printmaking studio provides everything students need to get started in creating unique, beautiful designs, images and work, building confidence and skills in all areas of printmaking.

    Explore and develop personal work using traditional printmaking methods with a contemporary approach. Techniques covered include drypoint, etching, linocut, collagraphy and photo etching.     Learn how to create wonderful monochrome and multicolour woodblock prints. You'll be encouraged to work from your own source imagery (sketches, magazine cuttings, photos etc) as an inspirational lead-in to producing your relief prints. Suitable for all levels.

  3. Introduction to Japanese woodcut printmaking

    An introduction to the beautiful and delicate printmaking world of Japanese Woodcut. Explore this water based, non-toxic process and build an appreciation for the handmade. You will learn how to design, carve and make a multi-coloured print. No prior experience necessary.
