Learn the fundamentals and specialist skills in a range of photography workshops that will build your confidence in planning, shooting, editing and even exhibiting quality photography in both print and digital form.

Learning from our team of experienced industry professionals, you will receive expert hands-on guidance and advice with opportunities to put techniques into practice. All our courses take place in our professionally equipped photography studio, and you will have full use of all resources and equipment required to master your photography skills.

Courses available both in-person and online

At City Lit, you can choose to study in-person or online. Our fantastic in-person courses are taught in our attractive campus, located in the heart of Covent Garden, central London. Here, our students can benefit from a variety of services and resources, including our café and state-of-the art equipment.

Our online courses are tailored to give you a social and interactive online learning experience, allowing you freedom to study from anywhere and with like-minded fellow classmates from all over the country without the need to travel.     Photography walk - street portraiture around Brick Lane

    This intensive one-day workshop introduces street portraiture photography in the vibrant Brick Lane area of East London. Guided by your tutor, you will explore approaches to photographing people in public spaces, learning how to engage with subjects, work confidently on the street, and capture authentic portraits that reflect the character and diversity of the area.

    Through practical shooting sessions, you will develop skills in observation, communication, composition, and the use of natural light while creating a small series of compelling environmental portraits and candid street images.
