Our range of part-time, weekend and evening art and design classes are taught by successful artists and practitioners to ensure you get the skills, knowledge and experience you want and deserve. From experimental painting and drawing to contemporary jewellery making, there is sure to be a course for you. Study from 1 day to 2 years, whether you are a complete beginner or a practising artist preparing for an MA. Our courses are designed with you in mind, so you get to spend more time doing what you love. New for 2020 we now offer a creative portfolio of live online courses as well as our face-face studio based teaching.

    Delve deep into the world photography and get to know your camera, learning both traditional and digital techniques. City Lit photography: stage 1 kicks of a yearlong course that offers both knowledge and practical experience within photography, exploring various contexts and the background of its many genres. Try out and develop new skills in industry software and gain the confidence and skills required to plan, shoot and edit your own photography project. City Lit photography: stage 1 is the first of the two stage course, enabling you to build a comprehensive and exciting portfolio of photographic work. It is possible to join the course at either stage or complete both stages across the year should you wish. Students who complete both stages of the course will achieve all of the learning outcomes and will have the opportunity to present their final ideas and work in an exhibition.

    Delve deep into the world of photography and get to grips with your camera, working with a selection of fundamental projects that will support you in learning both traditional and digital techniques. Photography Projects 1 kicks off a year long course that offers both knowledge and practical experience within photography, exploring its various contexts and genres. This is the first part of the two-stage course, enabling you to gain the confidence and skills required to plan, shoot and edit your own photography project. Students who complete both stages of the course will achieve all of the learning outcomes and will have the opportunity to build an extensive portfolio of photographic work and present their final ideas in an exhibition.
