Then why not consider enrolling onto our introduction to graphic design and illustration course, where students are introduced to the fundamentals in both subjects, supporting them to identify the most appropriate progression route for their goals.

Our introductory stage courses will guide students through the creative processes involved, working through a series of creative projects and tasks, with one-to-one expert guidance. Students studying graphic design and illustration will analyse the ideas of some of the biggest designers in theses creative subjects and will obtain the skills required to make work like their favourite designers. Learn what being a designer is all about and leave with a professional portfolio of graphic design and illustration work.

Learn how to work to a creative brief as well as the generation and development of ideas through creative problem solving. Explore various approaches to drawing, typography, narrative and abstraction and different forms of communication using both hand and digital techniques and processes.

Our skills based workshops focus on particular elements within graphic design and illustration, and are perfect for students who have a specific project in mind or process they want to learn. From the A-Z of typography to Botanical illustration, our tutors will help students at every stage.

All our graphic design and illustration courses are delivered in our spacious digital studios that are fully equipped with the latest Adobe CC software, Apple Mac computers, laptops and printing facilities. Students at City Lit will have everything they need to achieve their creative ambitions.

  5. Illustration projects 2

    Illustration can be understod as imagery in context often aligned with graphic design to impart information to an audience. This course, delivered in 3 project based courses, will primarily give you a deeper understanding of what illustration is, what it can be, and the context in which it exists.







    Throughout the course, you will explore a variety of image-making processes and through experimentation and play identify and develop your authentic voice, which can be utilised to respond to set assignments and ultimately commercial projects.
