Visual communication is the basis of our relationship and our understanding with the world and we come into contact with this area of design daily. Through a combination of working with either text, image or both, our creative courses will help students understand the basic concepts and processes involved in visual communication and how to communicate ideas and work visually to different audiences in different ways.
We offer a variety of courses that experiment and explore ways of working in analogue or digital, still or interactive and in a host of subjects. From drafting a story board in pencil to designing a new graphic design poster designing creative packaging using the latest adobe software, our courses and specialist workshops will provoke you into thinking and talking about design.
As well as our short courses on offer within graphic design, illustration or animation we also have a selection of City Lit long courses. These one year long courses guide students through the key stages of a particular subject with many students progressing onto our advanced practice courses or into industry.
Our digital studios have everything students need to complete their next creative challenge, using the latest Adobe CC software, Apple Mac computers, Wacom tablets and a range of printers and scanners including access to our 3D printing and laser cutting digital suite.
Many of our courses are delivered online. For more information about our live online courses, please see our guide to online learning.
Many of our digital and design students can now take advantage of our state-of-the-art Digital and Design Lab.
