City Lit Art & Design offers the most diverse range of part-time, weekend and evening courses in London, taught by successful artists and practitioners. Rated ‘outstanding’ in our last government inspection our art classes include some of the most popular subjects in London; from photography, fashion and textiles, drawing and painting, print, graphic designinterior design and garden design courses, just to name a few. Whether you are a complete beginner or a practising artist, we are sure we have an art course for you!

    Build an individual fine art practice by exploring painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media and contextual studies in a series of structured projects. You will be expected to keep up with current exhibitions in London. Group tutorials will help you adopt an independent and experimental approach to your work. The course can be taken for personal development or act as a bridge between adult short courses and entry to undergraduate and postgraduate courses. This course runs Thursday evenings 18:00–21:00 and every other Saturday 10:00–17:00. Details of Saturday dates will be given at interview.

    You will pursue a more individual route, resulting in a body of work reflecting your own concerns. You will have one-to-one tutorials and will learn a range of skills from practising artists. Basic materials included. This course runs Thursday evenings 18:00–21:00 and every other Saturday 10:00–17:00. Details of Saturday dates will be given at interview.

    For learners experienced in a wide range of basketry techniques, this is a new course to build develop your skills. You will be introduced to some new techniques and emphasis will be placed on self directed study and developing a personal portfolio of work. This course is suitable for those experienced in a wide range of basketry techniques and who have completed the City Lit basketry course or have equivalent skills. These will be discussed at a pre-enrolment interview.
