Our range of part-time, weekend and evening art and design classes are taught by successful artists and practitioners to ensure you get the skills, knowledge and experience you want and deserve. From experimental painting and drawing to contemporary jewellery making, there is sure to be a course for you. Study from 1 day to 2 years, whether you are a complete beginner or a practising artist preparing for an MA. Our courses are designed with you in mind, so you get to spend more time doing what you love.

Learn in the centre of London with our in-person courses. Our purpose-built facilities in Covent Garden mean we are ideally located and easy to get to.

  1. Jewellery making: cold connections

    Would you like to learn how to combine / integrate materials and objects that are not metal into your jewellery making without the use of heat? This course offers you the opportunity to explore joining several different materials together using a variety of cold connection techniques such as rivets and tabs. Come and experiment with a number of techniques and adapt them to use with your own designs.

  3. Woodblock printmaking: large-scale techniques

  4. Printmaking techniques: summer school intensive

    This fast-paced course reveals some of the processes used to make fine art prints. You will try both relief and intaglio printmaking methods. This course is for beginners and those with limited experience who want to discover how printmaking techniques actually work. An ideal way to start printmaking.

  5. Fine binding masterclass III: creative approaches to design binding

    If you already have technical bookbinding skills but want to kickstart, or develop your creative and design skills then this course will help you to develop ways of engaging visually with the content of the book. Through a series of practical excercises and activities, you will learn a range of creative thinking skills and ways to apply them to design for bookbinding. This course is aimed at bookbinders interested in design binding but would benefit anyone working in book arts who is interested in exploring a text visually.

  6. Etching: summer school intensive

    This three day summerschool course (with one day break) gives an exciting introduction to the basic processes and principles of etching. Using zinc plate, create beautiful images with line, texture and tone, and experiment with printing your image in both monochrome and colour.

  7. Graphic design collage workshop

    Take a deep dive into a specific process, media or tool, with our Visual Communication Workshops.



    In this workshop, learn the importance of ‘play’ and risk-taking in the design process – through the brilliant medium of collage, which perfectly lends itself to consequence-free visual exploration.







    Workshops throw the spotlight onto niche areas of the visual communication field, enabling you to hone higher-level skills and gain deeper insights.



    Workshops tend to have a practical focus, with little or no conceptual or contextual elements, although this varies by course.

  8. Drypoint and intaglio printmaking: summer school intensive
    Course start date:  Tue 30 Jul 2024

    Tutors:  Anne-Marie Foster
    Drypoint is a way of creating grooves in a solid surface, it produces a rich unique type of drawn line, from which you will make prints using intaglio inking methods and the printing press, This summer workshop offers the opportunity to use specialist techniques and tools and gain insight into how these sit within the creative practice of artists using drypoint. For all levels, although some experience of drawing is preferable.
