You will learn axonometric drawing to architectural scale; reading simple plan and elevation drawings and visualising interior spaces. This course is beginner’s level, perfect for interior, garden and theatre design, sculpture and model making.


What is the course about?

On this practical course you will be introduced to visualising interior spaces through the use of axonometric drawing,. Axonometric drawings are measurable using plan and elevation drawings as their source material. You will also learn how to read and draw simple plans and elevations to scale. Throughout the course you will use accessible user friendly materials to realise your drawing.

- Draw furniture on your plans and elevations, using templates
- Understand the basic concepts of an axonometric drawing

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

The short course is beginners level and suitable for all who would like to add formal drawing to their creative skills. It can be used as an invaluable resource in preparation for computer aided design and interior design courses.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

A mixture of ‘hands on ‘ workshops, demonstrations, group discussion, individual drawing advice and examples of interior designers' and architects' drawings. This course requires no homework but you may enjoy practicing some of the topics in your sketchbook.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

Please bring a sketch book to record visual ideas, a folder for filing course handouts. All other materials will be provided.
