What is the course about?

This workshop offers an opportunity to learn about and practise a few songs from Bad Bunny’s repertoire. From Caribbean slang and casual expressions to themes of identity, social change, and everyday life, this course offers a lively and authentic way to build your confidence and get you ready to sing along.

What will we cover?

The course will start with a short introduction about Bad Bunny and the context of his songs. You will then work on three of his most famous songs to understand them and have the confidence to sing along with passion and expression.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

- Have a good understanding of three of Bad Bunny’s famous songs
- Pronounce the lyrics with confidence and, if you feel up for it, sing them
- Use colloquial language with more confidence
- Understand the cultural and social context of Bad Bunny’s songs

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

A basic knowledge of Spanish is recommended as this makes it easier to remember and pronounce words and sentences, however anyone interested in Bad Bunny can take part.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Unlike our Spanish language courses, instructions and explanations will be given in English and the translation of the songs will be provided if necessary. However, there will be ample pair and small group pronunciation practice and opportunities to sing whole songs (although there will be no pressure to do so).

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

No, all material will be provided by the tutor.

When I've finished, what course can I do next?

This will depend on your level of Spanish. Please contact languages@citylit.ac.uk for advice.

You may also wish to consider our conversation, pronunciation and accents and language and culture courses to expand and consolidate your learning.
