What is the course about?
This course is about creatively reusing/recycling/repurposing a prolific modern material, cardboard packaging, which is usually just discarded, into a contemporary and unique piece of basketry. At the same time it will introduce the technique of bias plaited basketry which has been used in many places around the world for centuries to make many different forms of basketry.

Use bias plaited basketry techniques
Create a recycled bias plaited basket.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
This course will be suitable for beginners as well as students with some previous experience of plaited basketry who wanted to explore working with other (recycled) materials.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
Through practical demonstrations both to the group and to individuals. Group discussions and feedback are encouraged.
Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?
Basic materials will be provided.
There may be a few additional low cost materials to purchase from the tutor.
