Do you want to refine your presentations to make them more professional? Are you ready to take advantage of some of PowerPoints more sophisticated features so you save time and tailor your presentations according to you audience? On this course, you will learn how to make your presentation interesting to the audience and visually appealing. You will learn about different design and master slide templates so you can ensure your slides are professional, appropriate to the context and are matched to your workplace logo and branding. You will also learn how to create multiple presentations within a single show, how to use charts and SmartArt graphics to represent numerical and textual data and strategically use effects such as animation and transition to direct your audience's attention. By the end of this course you can be confident you can create professional standout presentations.

Can you use some of PowerPoint features but want to expand your skills? Join this short introduction to the essential elements of PowerPoint. Learn how to create a presentation using key features of PowerPoint 2016. Knowledge required: basic computer literacy and the ability to use a mouse and keyboard.

What is the course about?

On this course you will learn how to make the most of key PowerPoint features to create attractive and effective presentations. You will focus on how to make your presentations interesting and visually engaging to your audience and how to use different templates to present professionally and appropriately. You will learn how to custom view your show so your presentation can be adapted to different audiences. You will work on how to use charts and SmartArt graphics to represent numerical and textual data and how to direct your audience's attention using animation and transition. You will also learn how to add presenter notes.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

This is an intermediate course suitable for those who already use PowerPoint but want to learn some of its more sophisticated functions.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

You will learn in a supportive and welcoming environment with an emphasis on your discovering how to do and complete tasks, with guidance from the tutor. You will work on your own and with other students on different tasks so you are always practising important in-demand life and work skills such as problem-solving, decision-making, prioritising, negotiating, collaborating and independence. You will learn in a step by step manner so you can complete challenging tasks in enjoyable and relaxing ways. Your tutor will also work with you individually so you know how to improve and how to work in a way that improves your learning. You will need to do work outside the classroom and use Google Classroom to help you.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

You will need a pen, some lined A4 paper and a file to keep your work in. Your tutor will provide handouts and a code for Google classroom so you can communicate with classmates and access materials, videos etc. online.
