What is the course about?

Improving your confidence in translating the Bible from Hebrew, understanding what translations are unable to convey.

What will we cover?

piel verbs, plural possessives, reading the Creation story.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

- Recognise all Pa’al verb forms and some other verbs, and all noun forms
- translate with more confidence.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

This is an intermediate course and requires Biblical Hebrew Level 1 or an equivalent. As this course is taught in English, please read the outline carefully to decide if you may benefit from support with your English skills to help you take part fully in this class.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Students will be expected to read and translate in class, to do some exercises during the week and to learn vocabulary each week.

You will need to bring the textbook each week: The First Hebrew Primer Third Edition: The Adult Beginners Path to Biblical Hebrew by Simon Resnikoff and Motzkin, published by EKS, California ISBN 9780939144150.
