What is the course about?
Continuing to learn Hebrew grammar, and begin to develop skills in translating the Bible.
What will we cover?
Hiphil verbs, object suffixes and Niphal verbs, continue translating the book of Ruth
We will start to translate the creation story, alternating translation weeks and grammar weeks.
What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...
Recognise most verb forms and translate biblical verses.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
You will need to have completed Biblical Hebrew Level 2 Module 1 or at least a year of any beginner’s biblical Hebrew course.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
By studying the textbook and Biblical verses in class. You will be asked to do homework to help you remember the grammar studied in class and to develop your vocabulary.

The Bible texts we translate will be supplied and you will need to bring them each week. You will need to bring the
textbook each week: The First Hebrew Primer Third Edition: The Adult Beginners Path to Biblical Hebrew by Simon
Resnikoff and Motzkin, published by EKS, California. The sole importer to the UK is John Trotter, Manor House
