What is the course about?

Continue learning enough grammar to translate the Bible from Hebrew with confidence, understanding what translations are unable to convey and translating straightforward biblical texts.

This is a live online course. You will need:
- Internet connection. The classes work best with Chrome.
- A computer with microphone and camera is best (e.g. a PC/laptop/iMac/MacBook), or a tablet/iPad/smart phone/iPhone if you don't have a computer.
- Earphones/headphones/speakers.
We will contact you with joining instructions before your course starts.

What will we cover?

Hiphil verbs, object suffixes and niphal verb forms, translating the Noah story.

Recognise and understand a wider range of grammatical forms and vocabulary.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

The course continues from Level 2, modules 1& 2 and you will need either to have completed those courses or to have a similar level of knowledge. As this course is taught in English, please read the outline carefully to decide if you may benefit from support with your English skills to help you take part fully in this class.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

You will learn new grammatical forms and vocabulary via the textbook; outside class you will need to do exercises to practise the grammar you have learnt and to learn new vocabulary, about 12 words per week.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

Pen, paper and the textbook (The First Hebrew Primer Third Edition: The Adult Beginners Path to Biblical Hebrew by Simon Resnikoff and Motzkin, published by EKS, California. The sole importer to the UK is John Trotter, Manor House Books, 80 East End Rd, London N3 2SY, 020 8349 9484. The textbook costs £29.50 from the shop and can also be ordered from them via at £32.50 plus postage.
