What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

This is an introductory course and is aimed at complete beginners, so no previous skills or experience are required. It is open to anyone with enthusiasm for the natural world who is keen on observing the wildlife around them. We will focus on common garden and parkland species and go back to basics.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

The course will be taught online using a mixture of presentations, visual guides and sound recordings. There will be a chance to quiz yourself and ask the tutor questions. There is no work required outside of the classroom, but the session aims to equip you with the skills and knowledge to have a go at identifying species in the field in your own time.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?
