What is the course about?

This is a two day CPD workshop for beauty, massage and lymphatic drainage therapists. This practical, hands-on course teaches the distinctive Brazilian MLD method, renowned for creating an instantly sculpted, contoured appearance while supporting the body’s natural lymphatic circulation. You will learn how to perform a complete Brazilian MLD routine alongside the safe and effective use of wooden Maderotherapy tools.

What will we cover?

- Anatomy & physiology of the lymphatic system

-Benefits of Brazilian MLD & wooden Maderotherapy tools

-The theory and application of Brazilian MLD & Maderotherapy tools

-Contraindications, contra-actions and aftercare advice

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

- Have a deeper understanding of the lymphatic system

- Be able to identify the benefits of Brazilian MLD & Maderotherapy tools

- Be able to identify the contraindications, contra-actions and aftercare advice

- Confidently deliver both treatments individually or combine into a body treatment

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

You will need to have completed a Level 3 qualification in Massage/Manual Lymphatic Drainage or a Level 3 or above qualification as a beauty therapist.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

There will be some theory taught via a PowerPoint presentation. Most of the workshop will be hands-on and practical. You will work in pairs for practical elements of the workshop. No additional work outside of class.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

Notepad/pen if you wish to take notes. The college will provide towels and facial products.

When I've finished, what course can I do next?

You could go on to do further courses like the Level 3 Lymphatic Drainage or it may spark your interest to do additional CPD courses in facials, gua sha or facial cupping.

Mark Woollard

I joined this marvellous industry back in 2004 when I started my training in Swedish massage. At first I was doing it as my 'back up' career as I wanted to be an actor. But before I knew it, I'd fallen in love with holistic therapy and well-being and now it has been my full time career for almost twenty years! After catching 'the bug', I trained in Indian head massage, reflexology, facials, reiki, deep tissue, hot stone and lymphatic drainage massage. The list goes on! I keep adding new qualifications to my extensive repertoire every year as I think its important not to become stagnant and to keep learning. As the old adage goes, "KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!" And there's nothing more powerful than complementary medicine. As well as teaching, I currently run my own mobile therapy business and it makes me feel old that I've been treating some of my clients for over fifteen years. I love nothing more than seeing the joy on a client's face after every single treatment. I can't wait to see you on a course in the future. I just love passing on my knowledge and passion to the therapists of the future!
