What is the course about?
City Lit Pro courses are tailored for accelerated learning for busy people who need to learn key skills for the workplace. On this Adobe Creative Suite course, covering Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, you will learn key tools and techniques to develop, deliver and optimize vector graphics, photographic images and page layout and design.

What will we cover?
- Fundamentals of InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator for print
- Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign integration
- Design and illustration concepts, composition, colour, texture and pattern
- Editing images with Photoshop
- Using Photoshop to enhance and combine images
- Vector graphics and illustration with Illustrator
- Using Illustrator to create simple illustrations, graphics, and logos
- Page layout and design with InDesign
- Using InDesign to layout pages, and create multi-page documents
- Typography basics
- Saving and exporting work to different file formats.
What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...
- Identify the main differences between, and the uses for Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
Use Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign for the following:
- Create designs
- Layout page/s with text and images
- Save a body of work for future development.
- Export a pdf for print or online viewing
- Export images for web and print.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
No prior knowledge of Photoshop is required, but you should have good computing skills with some knowledge of Mac or Windows systems and be confident in using the keyboard and mouse in using either the Microsoft Word processing program or with text based creative software. For example; you should know how to launch an application, create, copy and save files.
You should be able to follow simple written and verbal instructions, demonstrations, hand-outs and health and safety information, and will be invited to take part in group discussion. You should be able to use numbers and be able to do simple measurements and calculations.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
You will be taught with workshops, short lectures, practical exercises, tutorials and handouts and will be supported by the tutor and your peers when developing your course-work. Please note the City Lit uses Apple Mac computers in Digital arts, Graphics & Illustration and Photography..
Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?
No books are necessary to take this course, but you should have a notepad for your written notes. It would be useful to bring a memory stick (or portable hard drive – please note PC formatted hard drives can be read by Apple mac computers, but not written to.)
