Description

What is the course about?

This advanced course for those already experienced in Lightroom covers some of the program's more familiar photo processing and image organising functions in more depth, as well as introducing its more complex elements. There will be plenty of opportunity to practice using your own images, and to ask the tutor specific troubleshooting questions relating to your own projects.

Although this is a non-accredited course, students successfully completing the course will be awarded our CityLit Certificate - based on achievements of the course outcomes and attendance..

What will we cover?

- Importing, exporting and combining catalogues
- Shooting tethered
- Editing in Lightroom workflow
- Importing your photos from iPhoto, Aperture and other similar programmes
- Troubleshooting.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

You will learn in a relaxed environment with a small group of up to 8 people.
- export images to work with off-site
- combine existing catalogues
- design an effective Photoshop / Lightroom workflow
- organise and future-proof your file structure
- create online client proofing galleries.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

This is not a beginner’s course. Students should have attended the previous 'Lightroom for Photographers' course or have a good grasp of the basic functionality already.

You will need to be able to follow simple written and verbal instructions, demonstrations, hand-outs and health and safety information, and be prepared to take part in group discussion. You should be happy using numbers and able to do simple measurements and calculations.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

You will be taught using a range of techniques including workshops, short lectures, demonstrations, practical exercises, tutorials, group and individual assistance and hand-outs. Please note we will be working on Apple Mac computers.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

You may wish to bring a notebook and pen, and it would be useful to bring a memory stick (or portable hard drive – please note PC-formatted hard drives can be read by Apple Mac computers, but not written to).
