What is the course about?
The course offers a guide to all the different styles of wine that New Zealand can produce.

The difference between the North and South island in terms of geography and climate
The grape varieties of the North and South Islands
The different wine regions of New Zealand.
What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...
Describe the main differences between the North and South Islands of New Zealand
Name the different wine producing regions of New Zealand
Describe how different climates across New Zealand influence wine making.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
The course is open to beginners and those with some knowledge of wine.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
The course is taught through tasting the wines. There will be recommendations for other wines for you to try if you wish.
Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?
There are no other costs – tasting glasses and spittoons will be provided.
You may wish to bring a notebook, pen and water, and possibly some plain crackers to refresh your palate between wines. Please avoid strong perfume or aftershave.
