What will we cover?

The course is suitable for all levels of ability.

The course fee covers basic materials such as inks, a standard quality paper and general communal workshop sundries. A limited amount of zinc etching plate can be purchased at cost in the class.

My own studies and teaching history 1977 - 79 painting at Hochschule für Bildende Künste, Hamburg 1984 - 85 painting at The Royal College of Art, London. 1986 MA printmaking at Hochschule für Bildende Kunst, Braunschweig 1987 lecturer in printmaking at University of Nigeria, Nsukka. 2000 Diploma in Ceramics at City Lit, London. 2015/12/11/10 shortlisted for The Jerwood Drawing Prize 2013 visiting professor at Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing and at Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts in Xi'an, China. Currently teaching at The National Gallery and City Lit in London. From 2017 to 2023 yearly artist residency at Opificio della Rosa, in Montefiore Conca, Italy. 2023 winner of the Woolwich Contemporay Printmaking Prize at Citylit my teaching is certainly about skills and where they, and we - sit within the bigger context of printmaking. It ‘ll also be about bypassing old habits of control and instead enjoying moments of surprise. All in the search for a more personal vocabulary.
