    Study calligraphy with this in-depth, three term programme that will equip you with the essential techniques required for beautiful cursive handwriting. The course will cover specialist skills-based training in Calligraphy with Design, blending traditional skills with an introduction to the latest trends in the calligraphy and design world. An exciting, challenging, and thorough introduction to the art of calligraphy.
    Please note this course runs on Monday evenings from 18:30 - 21:00, plus one Saturday per term from 10:30 - 16:30.

    The UAL Foundation Diploma in Art & Design at City Lit is an exciting and challenging multi-disciplinary art, design, craft and media programme. It is designed to give you the best possible introduction to a wide range of materials, techniques and processes, and to support you in identifying and developing your creative interests and thinking. Validated by the University of the Arts London Awarding Body, it is an internationally recognised qualification with a UCAS tariff that enables you to apply directly to University.



    The course fee is £5421.00. If you are unable to pay the course fee upfront, you can choose to apply for an Advanced Learning Loan from the Student Loans Company (SLC) to help cover the cost.     This is an intermediate-level course which offers an introduction to working with leather, leather paring and to the technical aspects of creating a fine binding. It is aimed at students who have some bookbinding experience and will introduce you to new skills and techniques, enabling you to develop and build on your existing knowledge of traditional and contemporary bookbinding. If you enrol on this course, please read  section 7 of the course outline, as you will need to bring some decorative paper for the first session. This course is not suitable for beginners.
