Craft talks series

The Craft Talks Series invites experienced writers to share elements of their writing craft. Learn how they navigate the world of writing, from working with diverse subject matter, to honing writing techniques, to living the highs and lows of the writing life. There will be wisdom, practical exercises, and an opportunity to hear these writers read from their work and answer your questions. Check back for details of our first Craft Talk writer soon!

- reflect upon the topic of the talk and apply your reflection to writing projects
- discuss writing with confidence.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

Writers of all levels are welcome at this talk. You will need to have a good grasp of English to participate in the exercise the writer will set, and you should feel comfortable participating and discussing writing with your peers.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

You will learn through interactive lecture, a writing exercise, discussion, and a Q&A. There will be no work outside of the talk except to keep working on your writing!

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

There are no additional costs. Please bring a pen and paper or a laptop if you feel more comfortable using one. Please note that this is a talk and due to the way in which the room may be arranged, you may not be able to plug your laptop into a power source.
