What is the course about?

This course is about Apple’s built in Photos programme to improve, edit and organise your photographs to create photobooks. This course is an ideal companion course to "A short introduction to Apple Photos", which covers in more detail how to adjust and edit the visual quality of your pictures.

What will we cover?

• How to import your photographs from your camera or iPhone
• How to create collections and folders of your pictures
• How to organise, plan and prepare your images to send to an online printing company
• How to adjust or improve the colour, contrast and exposure
• How to crop
• How to organise your photographs by theme, subject or style.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

• Crop pictures
• Adjust using filters to improve or convert to black and white
• Import, export and send your images for printing into photobooks.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

This course is aimed at those who have some basic familiarity with their Apple computer and Apple’s Photos programme to create photobooks from their digital photographs.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Each student has access to a computer or can bring their own laptop to use in practical work.
You will be taught using a range of techniques including workshops, short lectures, demonstrations, practical exercises, tutorials, group and individual.
Notes will be provided.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

We suggest that learners have online access to some images that they experiment with. Would be good to have access to your Apple ID and you can also bring you iOS device if you wish. Bring a USB to save any work. A pen and paper to take notes.
