What is the course about?

This short online revision course is perfect if you've recently completed around 6 months of Danish study and want to consolidate your learning. It's especially useful for continuing students who have previously studied Modules 1 and 2 with us. If you're planning to join Danish Beginners Module 3 in September, this course is a great way to dust off your Danish after the summer break and get back into the rhythm of learning.

What will we cover?

We will look at:

- word-order in simple sentences and complex sentences.
- noun class and adjectives (e.g. et stort hus, en stor by, store byer, store huse, det store by, den store by)
- singular and plural nouns (e.g. hus, huset, et hus, huse)
- choosing between infinitive (at arbejde) and present tense forms (arbejder )
- choosing between different forms of the past tense.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

- confidently identify parts of speech in Danish (such as verbs, adverbs, pronouns and nouns)
- identify which areas of basic grammar you need to continue working on and which you've mastered
- conjugate regular verbs with increased accuracy
- decline adjectives with increased accuracy
- identify and correct errors in word-order
- confidently change a statement into a question.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

For continuing students:You'll find this course useful if you've previously studied Modules 1 and 2 with us. If you're planning to join Danish Beginners Module 3 in September, this course is a great way to dust off your Danish after the summer break and get back into the rhythm of learning

For new students: you'll find this course useful if you have some previous experience of beginners' level Danish learning and want to revive your dormant Danish skills and knowledge. It's a great way to meet our Danish tutor and our enthusiastic online Danish learning community at City.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Short, accessible grammar demonstrations followed by group work and informal quizzes.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

Based on tutor's own material.

When I've finished, what course can I do next?
