What is the course about?
This is a two day CPD course designed for learners of holistic massage who wish to progress to competent practice of deep tissue massage. Learners will gain the necessary practical and theoretical skills needed to provide a safe and effective massage treatment using deep tissue techniques to professional standards.
What will we cover?
- Introduction to palpation and trigger points
- Working in side position
- Use of elbows, forearms, knuckles
- Use and importance of posture.
What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...
- Demonstrate deep tissue skills and working in side position
- Show the correct use of posture
- Demonstrate basic palpatory skills to determine areas of tension/trigger points to focus on in your routine.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
Post Graduate/CPD. You will need to have completed a Level 3 qualification in massage (including anatomy and physiology). You will also need to have sufficient literacy, numeracy and ICT skills
ICT (Information and communication technology): Use ICT systems (Windows, Microsoft Office); Find, select and exchange information via web and email; Work with word processing.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
Presentation, practical demonstration, pair work, small and large group work, practical work, and home practice. This is a practical two day course.
Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?
The collage will provide towles, wipes,sanitiser and massage oils. Please bring a notepad and pen.
