Dry cupping is an ancient form of therapy that dates back to ancient Egypt, Chinese and Middle Eastern cultures. It works to promote faster healing process to the tissues, increase ROM and even help with postural dysfunction. In this course, learners will gain the knowledge of the basic application of dry cupping, and the necessary theoretical skills to offer the treatment. We will discuss its physical benefits on the tissues and fascias and how cupping can help improve ROM and postural dysfunction.

- Understand how to apply dry cupping safely and effectively. - Understand the contraindications and precautions to look for in a client before proceeding with the treatment. - Explain the benefits of cupping therapy and offer a full body treatment or a targeted treatment to clients. - Offer a functional approach adapted to the western world for clients in needs of pain relief. - Understand the different application techniques and level of suction to apply. - Understand how to use dry cupping therapy in both functional and holistic approaches. - Differententiate the different type of colour in the tissues post treatment.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
Student must be over 18 and qualified in Level 3 Sports massage therapy or Massage therapy.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
Presentation, practical demonstration, pair work, small and large group work, practical work, and home practice. This is a practical two day course.
Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?
There are no other costs. The Dry cupping kit and handout are included in the course cost. We will provide towels, oils and massage table. You may wish to bring a pen and paper for notes.
