ESOL Courses (English for Speakers of Other Languages)

Improve your English at City Lit with our ESOL classes. We have courses from beginner to advanced levels, with qualifications and without, in the day and in the evening.

Most courses can be funded in instalments, or you can apply to the City Lit Student Support Fund for help with fees or travel costs. Contact 020 7492 2511 or 020 7831 7831 for more information

All new students need to do an online assessment so we can put you in the right course. If you know which course you want to do, go to the course page on our website, and click 'Start Assessment'. We advise you to use Google Chrome as your browser when doing this. You will need to enter your email address and create a password.

If you do not know which course you want to do, complete the online assessment featured on the Grammar in practice: upper intermediate level 1-2 page, we will then be able to advise you which course would be most suitable.

When you have completed your assessment, please email ian.wollington@citylit.ac.uk to let us know. Please put ‘ONLINE ASSESSMENT’ in the email subject line.

Study at home with our online courses.

You can now study ESOL with our online face-to-face courses. You will need a computer with a microphone, a camera and the internet. It is best to use Google Chrome as your web browser. Your tutor will send you information on how to join your online class after you have enrolled.
