You can now study maths with our online face-to-face courses. You will need a computer with a microphone, a camera and the internet. It is best to use Google Chrome as your web browser. Your tutor will send you information on how to join your online class after you have enrolled.

    Do you need to become more confident in maths in your daily life, whether making calculations with money, understanding figures, charts and graphs in newspapers or online or measuring areas? This course will help you with the essential maths you need to participate, make progress and express yourself in a modern society. You will work with whole numbers, fractions and decimal numbers and use maths to solve problems involving time, money and measurement. You will learn about the properties of shapes, both 2D and 3D and how to read,interpret and comment on information in tables and charts. By the end of the course, you will be much more aware of how much maths there is in everyday life and how maths can help you.

  2. Maths for life (level 1)

    Become more confident using maths in your everyday life. This course will help you understand and use maths in your daily life so that data, graphs, charts and other mathematical representations come alive. You will begin to see how mathematics is everywhere and you will develop the maths you need to participate, make progress and express yourself in a modern society, without the pressure of an exam. You will work with whole numbers, recognise the relationship between fractions and decimal numbers and work with percentages. You will work on problem-solving involving time, money and measurements, as well as be able to measure confidently and convert between units of measurement. You will be able to state properties of shapes, both 2D and 3D and be better able to interpret, discuss and comment on the graphs you see in newspapers and online.

  3. Getting Ready for Maths functional skills (level 1)

    Do you want to become more confident in your maths? Do you need to develop your maths skills for work and everyday life? This course will help you use maths to improve your daily life and enable you to

    participate, make progress and express yourself whether at work or at home or when making sense of

    information in the news such as data and statistics. At the same time you will study to gain a qualification: level 1 functional skills maths. This accreditation is the first step in showing employers and others that your maths skills are at a good level and that you can apply these to solving problems in a variety of contexts. This introductory course will prepare you for the accreditation and you need to complete it before doing the full qualification course.
