    Do you want to become more confident in maths in your daily life? This course will enable you use maths every day to help with common tasks such as shopping, making money calculations, measuring and understanding figures, charts and graphs in newspapers or online. You will work with whole numbers, fractions and understand decimal numbers, You will solve problems involving time, money and measurement. You will be able to state properties of shapes, both 2D and 3D and read and interpret information in tables and charts.

  2. Maths for life (level 1)

    Do you need to become more confident using maths in your everyday life? This course will help you with the practical application and understanding of maths in your daily life. You will begin to see how mathematics is everywhere! You will work with whole numbers, recognise the relationship between fractions and decimal numbers and work with percentages. You will focus on solving problems involving time, money and measurements, be able to measure confidently and convert between units of measurement. You will be able to state properties of shapes, both 2D and 3D and be better able to interpret the graphs you see in newspapers and online.

  3. Maths at work series - working with percentages

    Do you use percentages at work? Would you like to feel more confident in your methods of calculating these? Can you interpret results and quote percentages in discussions? This standalone session will look at a variety of percentage questions, the most economical calculation methods, interpreting results and drawing conclusions.

  4. Maths at work series - analysing data at work

    Increase your confidence in analysing data at work or in everyday life. This standalone session will look at types of data, analysis of data (both numerical and visual) and drawing conclusions from these.

    You will not be using Excel in this session, though you may be interested in joining one of our Excel courses afterwards.

  5. Making maths fun (L1-L2)

    This course is FREE if you are employed and earn less than £20,572.50 . You need to have lived in the UK or EU for the last 3 years and be a citizen of the UK or a country within the EU. You may also be eligible for this funding in other circumstances. When you come for assessment or enrolment, bring a pay slip dated within 3 months of the course start date, or a current employment contract that shows your gross salary.

    Do you want to gain a Maths GCSE but are not ready yet to achieve this in a single year? Do you need to test your abilities before attempting the qualification course? Then this Getting Ready for Maths GCSE is the course for you. It will prepare you for the accreditation and familiarise you with its content, level and expectation. You will need to complete and pass an initial assessment before starting this course to demonstrate at least a Level 1 Functional Skills level of Maths.
