Free maths courses are available to you if you live in London and you want to improve your everyday use of maths. Learn basic to help you budget, manage your money, help children with their homework, and understand the world around you.

- Getting ready for maths functional skills (level 1)Course start date: Mon 17 Feb 2025
Location on this date: Keeley Street
You will learn how to understand the non-calculator section of functional skills Level 1 Maths. You will develop your mathematical skills and knowledge in working with numbers including fractions, percentages, ratio and to work out area and perimeter. This non-accredited course will give you mathematical skills appropriate to the level, and show you how to apply mathematical thinking to solve simple problems in familiar situations. By the end of the course, you will have an inhouse written assessment which will allow your tutor to progress you to the accredited Functional Skills level 1 course.
Free course: This is a Multiply course. Multiply is a new government programme to help adults improve their numeracy skills. This course is free for Londoners aged 19 or over. For more information Click here
- Getting Ready for Maths functional skills level 2Course start date: Mon 17 Feb 2025
Location on this date: Keeley Street
You will learn techniques to understand the non-calculator section of the functional skills Level 2 Maths syllabus. You will develop your mathematical skills and knowledge to work with numbers including fractions, percentages, ratio and to work out area and perimeter. This non-accredited course (no exam) will give you the opportunity demonstrate a sound grasp of the underpinning skills and basics of maths appropriate to level 2, and to apply mathematical thinking to solve simple problems in familiar situations. By the end of the course, you will have an inhouse written assessment which will allow your tutor to progress you to the accredited course, where you can get your Functional Skills level 2 Maths qualification.

On this course you will learn three maths concepts:
(i) Numbers, (ii) Measures, shapes and space and (iii) Handling data.
By the end of this course, you will sit an exam to get your Entry level 3 Functional Skills qualification. Once you have passed this you can progress towards the Functional Skills level 1 Maths course.
This course is free for learners who have not achieved a GCSE grade C (4) and higher in Maths. For more information Click here
