  4. Effective decision-making for new managers: analysing, problem-solving problem-preventing, strategic thinking
    Evening,ONLINE
Course Date:  Thu 20 Jan 2022

    Location on this date:  Online

What makes a good manager? What are the skills needed by all managers regardless of level and industry? Decision-making is certainly one of these. A manager is making many decisions every day. Some are long-term, large scale, others are short-term and small-scale. Some are relatively risk-free, others involve much more uncertainty and even ambiguity. On this course, you will investigate what constitutes effective decision-making, what makes a good decision-maker especially in regard to more high risk situations. What is the relationship between your decision-making and wider strategies? What is strategic thinking? How do you identify potential problems? How do you analyse and research problems? How do you handle multiple information sources and data? How do you consider and judge alternative solutions to your problems? How do you see the bigger picture and wider implications? What is the relationship between decision-making and actions? By the end of this course, you will be confident you can be more decision-oriented, aware of how to prevent as well as solve problems and be able think more strategically.

This course is FREE if a) you are on a Low Wage or b) you are either on Jobseekers' Allowance (JSA) or Employment & Support Allowance(ESA) or c) you receive other state benefits (including Universal Credit) and your monthly take home pay is less than £343. For more information click here
