This course helps you build confidence using English in everyday situations in London. You will practise reading, writing, speaking and listening through practical topics such as daily routines, transport, health, shopping, and life in your local area. The course is designed to support learners with basic English skills in a friendly and supportive environment.
What will we cover?
We will focus on:
· Making small talk and asking simple questions (who, what, where, when, how)
· Introducing yourself and others
· Giving and following simple directions using the present tense and imperative
· Using public transport in London (tube and buses) and reading timetables
· Describing your neighbourhood using “there is/are/isn’t/aren’t”
· Talking about the weather and UK geography (north, south, east, west, towns and cities)
· Writing clear sentences using correct punctuation (capital letters, full stops, question marks)
· Describing common health problems using “have got/has got”
· Talking and writing about weights and prices using “much/many/some/any”
What will I achieve? By the end of this course you should be able to...

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
This course is for ESOL learners at Entry 1 level (Entry 1 / A1) who have basic English skills. You do not need to have studied English before, but you should be able to understand and use simple words and phrases. The course is ideal if you want to improve your English for everyday life in London.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
You will learn in a supportive and welcoming environment. The tutor will guide you through each topic step-by-step, using practical activities, group work and individual support. You will practise using English in real-life situations and may be asked to complete short tasks at home. Digital tools may be used to support your learning.
You will need to do homework every week and use Google Classroom.
Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

• a lined A4 paper notepad or a notebook
• a folder for your work
